I can see how I come off that way, but in general what I'm trying for is to say: Look, we did think of this, and there is a solution out there, as opposed to a problem we didn't forsee or without solution.
In this particular case I'm not at all saying the "solution" is obvious; but rather, that if I were to construct a gigantic finite state machine with each transition representing a different thing you (as a nightgaunt-hunted player) could do each time you entered a command or did something, the number of end states in which you were not killed by the nightgaunt would be far larger than the number of states in which it was possible for the nightgaunt to kill you.
Or simpler: I'll be amazed if someone doesn't stumble on the "answer" to this one by mistake, and quickly.
2) I was just commenting on Nepenthe who always seem to be making those kindda "I know what you should do, and it's sooo obvious that I simply cannot believe you people haven't figured it out"-comments.
