Gee, I don't know. Maybe the Empire should hold more f***ing bake sales.

Why does it continue to surprise you when Imperials see you, a paladin,
and do whatever is necessary to slay you? Submit to their BloodOath, and
this problem will end for you. (Others may start, but that is not their problem.)
Refuse their Oath, and you reject their ideals. Any guesses as to what happens
next? You are an enemy, and will be defeated again. Then they will offer you the
Oath, and you get to make another decision.

I assure you, they get the same treatment from their enemies.

RL Analogy: If a Mafia figure or local drug lord asked you to obey some rule (say, I run all the
gambling in this town), and you tell them you will not observe it.... what would happen next?

Is it nice? No. Is Empire a cabal devoted to power, order, and control, by any means
necessary? Yes.

Should they have attacked you in town? Clearly not. But I assure you that -several-
Citizens and bloodoaths have become Anathema for exactly that, and recently. These were
lucky.

One last time: The words "fair" or "cheap" do not exist in the Imperial vocabulary.
The Emperor has certain goals set, and Citizens must work to achieve them. That is all.
If you are alone, and a group of five finds you.... well, I hope you get the word of recall off.

Don't attack Centurions. It makes them angry.

Otherwise, you take your chances. There are a lot of negative things you can say
about Imperials, but they are organized, at least within Sects. Rest assured that
if one wants you dead, they all want you dead, and have several ideas for doing it.
Also rest assured, Everntien, that they all want you dead. All they need to know is
"Hey, he's a Paladin." The war doesn't stop until you swear the Oath or hit the Graveyard.

So stop whining. The CF crowd knows that Empire is evil. It's in the helpfiles in
case you are unclear. You apparently should also read the helpfiles on Lawful Evil,
while you're feeling studious. (As should certain Imperials.)
