Hold person and halt person.

The overwhelming majority of spells and supplications. Save vs. spell is what lets you resist sleep, blindness, summon, PWK, save on damage spells and take half damage, and so forth.

Again, no clue. Not sure if it does anything at all.

Right. When you get breathed on, a high save vs. breath will protect you from having your gear burned/shattered/etc.
