Leaving your pitiful hp situation to the other commenters....that backstab killed you. Pure and simple. Backstabs don't work everytime...just like you don't get cleaved in half everytime, nor ambushed really severely evertime, nor assassinated everytime. But when you do it hurts. If you want to play a class where you go around and gamble with a possible huge opening attack...don't play a muter. I'd argue that statistically, a well played muter would have the advantage most of the time. But you have to remember the one-hit wonder situation happens.
