> Let's look at things through an intelligent person's eyes. > You've got a group of four, and not just any group of four, a rather mean group of four. You've got a paladin who could easily sanc everybody, you've got a bard that adds resisting, we come, galadriel, shield of words and so forth. So already you can't be expecting to do a lot of damage. > You've got a porcupine, who you rightly decide will tear you up if you use anything other than your polearm. Your first mistake however is attacking the falcon, YOU ATTACK THE BARD! Bards can't sing phantasmal in combat, and your polearm makes is hard to flee. So you beat on the elf and keep him from singing the one song that is really going to sting a cloud giant. The paladin is basically worthless other than healing whoever you're fighting since wrath is useless. The porcupine is useless except for minimal damage because you're using the polearm. The falcon does fair damage to you, but not enough to keep you from killing at least the elven bard and maybe one of the magi afterwards if they're still around. > Now let's look at how you could've survived after having not considered these simple tactics. > As soon as the killer is on you you flee and run as many rooms as you can. You want to run far away to keep the rest of the group from finding you. Now that you've got sufficient space between you and the porcupine, paladin, and bard you switch to a dual wield, doesn't matter what kinds of weapons, just dual wield. The killer won't last long with you dishing out up to 8 attacks per round. By using a polearm against it you halve your attacks, BIG MISTAKE. After you dispose of the killer you switch back to the polearm and try to bash the falcon. Once he's sufficiently hurt he's going to fly away because coming back means he gets charge sets until he dies.
> By this time the paladin and bard have probably worded and you at least come out with your life.
