Your role is up to you, but I think there's a difference between pride and foolishness. That's neither here nor there though.

If I'm wrong in anything I have to assume it's the polearm bit. I still think you want to dish as much damage as you can to the fiend, and I still think that halving your damage by wielding one weapon isn't the way to go, kinda like using a shield isn't the way to go most of the time(remember the Waigerits log where everybody said using a shield wasn't smart?)

Who knows though, the best way to fight the fiend is not get fiended, and in that, you attack the bard.
