Just carry a teleport potion on you (if those still exist?) next time.

Anyway, two things, if it makes you feel better:
1. Everyone dies on CF, even those egomongers that spam kill you.
2. I rolled a necromancer a couple/few/can't remember how long ago weeks ago, and managed to sleep a group in front of you after taking heavy damage. Well, just as I was casting the last spell on this sleeping dwarf, you used altruism or whatever it is on him, he woke, and pounded me into the dirt. So you saved at least three lives and do some good.
