last I checked attacking a mercenary to draw a player into battle is considered a breech of law 1. Nopeurs:

Well I know only the interpretations in the last 12 RL months or so, but there is NOW a definate focus on owners being responsible for pets.

Consider all the pet types you are speaking of and you will see the need for owner responsibility in town.

You said--it's considered illegal to attack a pet, and therefore draw the owner into combat--- i say: No! this is not illegal.

If I were a pet owner i would give serious considerstion to keeping Autoassist LOCKED off. Since there is no way to detect the ploy you are speakin of--and it is not illegal--and the pet owner will be flagged almost certainly. But I repeat myself.
