Angels' pillars hit your groupmates, but not your or cabalmates. Always have. It's a drawback to them, and basically means that unless you're grouped with other (insert your cabal), you can't use angels safely outdoors (lightningshield also works).

As an aside, it's good to see someone following in my footsteps, abusing good-aligned Master conjurers. *grin*
