The Main street through eastern New Thalos begins here and heads westward
towards the marketplace. One of the main gates can be seen to the east, and
Braheem's Magic Shop awaits your business to the north.
East Main Street
Merchants and travellers alike frequent the Mercenary's Guild to
the south, hiring strongarms to guard precious cargo or to stave off the
dangers of the road. Out of work mercenaries gather along the wall at the
front of the shop, bored or bitter. Above the guild you hear the hammering
of the coffinmaker, always in demand in these rugged lands. To the north
an apothacary shop is flanked by oblong urns planted with tall, flowering
cacti. The eastern half of Main Street continues east and west from here.

East Main Street
The eastern extent of Main Street is paved with interlocking hexagonal
stones in a pattern of dull red and orange. Flat-roofed homes of clay and
wood line the street here, with laundry hanging from ropes strung above
the bustling crowds. From the grated windows in the shop to the north come
the screams of animals being butchered for market. Smoke from the armory
fires to the south drift above the crowd in a hazy cloud, the shuttered
windows high in the shop walls doing little to keep it contained to the
chimney. The street continues eastward through the shops and homes and
leads west to the main square.

The Eastern Market Square
Here you stand within the pandemonium of the Market of New Thalos,
the gem of the desert, the great Eastern Port. Merchants and traders from
near and far spill out of this tumultuous crowd into the surrounding
streets and alleys, dealing in livestock, textiles, jewels, and rare and
wonderful treasures. The din from the Market strikes you like a brick
but curiosity and wonder draws you into the crowd despite the deafening
noise. To the west a grand fountain adorns the Square. To the east

treet leads away from the chaos.

Here at the heart of the city the din of the crowds mingles with barkers
and traders and drunken sailors on shore leave. A large fountain spreads
across the square in a shape of a six pointed star and many people sit along
the raised stone edge above the cool waters engaged in conversation.
Wandering among the merchants, jugglers, snake charmers, prostitutes and
clergymen you find your hands clasped tightly around your purse for fear of
being overwhelmed by the confusion and robbed blind. Outside the tents and
tables that are scattered through the throng a ring of shops encloses the
square.

Two large stone towers embedded in the wall loom over you. The massive
iron gate, emblazoned with the crest of New Thalos, swings easily on
four ornwhately crafted hinges. It is obvious the makers of this city
spared no expense to protect their home. Main street heads eastward to the
noise and crowds of the market and the Eastern Road passes through the Sands
of Sorrow to the west.

of two major roads. Here, the Great Eastern Road intersects with an

leads to the old Dwarven Kingdom to the north. To the south, a road

the Grand City of Thalos. After the fall of Thalos to the invading
army of giants, the road fell into disuse. The countryside is very

By far the most congested crossroads of all those that surround Galadon, the
old road has been ground into nothing but dry dirt. The trail kicks up
clouds of dirt at a step, old trails leading off in all directions. Farms

leads straight across the plains, across the desert to the city of New
Thalos. The trail north and south extends around the edge of the city of
Galadon, skwirting along its border. The road west leads into the grand
eastern gate of Galadon. You notice a small sign off in the tall grass.

This large courtyard is filled with oak trees, which bend over a large
fountain in the middle of the yard. The pavement is a neutral gray stone
and the walls are done in the same neutral shade. Everything has an air
of practicality here, every paving stone is the same size, every tree the
same size. There is no excess ornamentation on the temple. Two archways
lead north and west to the Holy Road and the Park Road. Another large
doorway leads into the temple to the east and the courtyard continues to

Before you lies the smallest of thieves, but somehow he is always loaded with mo
ney
due to his size and his beady red eyes allowing him to steal everything from you
even at night.
Here stands a thief who was raised in galadon, and brought up in
old ways where practice was more the way of learning rather than
seeking the powers of others. He believe that with practice comes
perfection. One can see this through his many battle scars
including the one gash on his now bald head. He has only been
knocked unconcious that one time and has never quite been the same
since. He however has made many friends through his long life.
His typical attire is dark
clothing, which enable him to sneak around town stealing everyone
wallet. His eyes are beady red which leads one to think that he is
either constantly angry or that he is weird. He stands at a
whopping 3feet 11inches and 2.53 centimeters. He still insists that
he is still growing and will eventually get a growth spurt.

This is the northern end of a large temple dedicated to worshipping the
moon. Large windows are covered with drapes during the day but uncovered
at night so the moon can bathe the temple with its light. The pale grey
stonework takes on an inner glow in the moonshine, celebrating the
neutrality of the moon. To the south lies the altar and the temple
square lies to the west.

the east and west. A sad-looking little building lies to the south. You
can only see one window in the middle of the wall. There is an anguished
face peering out between the bars.

This bend in the road is rather typical, albeit lacking people. The road
continues to the north and west around the pretty wooded park in the center
of town. The Temple of the Moon lies through a small archway in the ivy to
the east.

This large courtyard is filled with oak trees, which bend over a large
fountain in the middle of the yard. The pavement is a neutral gray stone
and the walls are done in the same neutral shade. Everything has an air
of practicality here, every paving stone is the same size, every tree the
same size. There is no excess ornamentation on the temple. Two archways
lead north and west to the Holy Road and the Park Road. Another large
doorway leads into the temple to the east and the courtyard continues to
the south. Up lies the entrance to mud school.

The cobblestone avenue passes between the Paladin's Guild to the west and
the headquarters of the guard to the east. You feel a sudden urge to devote
yourself to being lawful good. The road is well-kept through here as it
passes from the park to the north towards the market square to the south.
Here the avenue connects with the market square to the south to form a
large, bustling place of commerce. A vegetable shop lies to the west while
a cartographer's store lies to the east. The road continues to the north.

Trade Road
You stand on the main thoroughfare of Galadon. This road connects the east
and west gates and holds all the traffic coming from the western forests as
well as the traffic coming from New Thalos to the east. Here, near the
market square, the crowds are overwhelming. You notice there is a fruit
stand to the north and an armory to the south. The market square lies to the
west and the road continues towards the east gate to the east.

the Warrior's Guild lies to the north. The road continues to the east and

over the gate in their path around the city. Through the gates to the east
you can see the well-traveled road that leads past the Sands of Sorrow to

battlements above. To the west, the Market Road leads into the city through
all the shops.

which might have been considered beautiful, if not for a long prominent
scar on her left cheek, and the look of sadistic delight she directs at
those around her. She stands near six feet in height, atypicaly tall for
those of her race. A long cloak of deep violet, almost black, flows over
her shoulders and down her back, clasped at her neck with a small silver
pin in the shape of a snake coiled around a cresent moon. Beneath it she
wears a skin-tight shirt of sheer white silk, the neck line cut in a v to
nearly her waist, leaving little about her slim frame to the imagination.
She glances around once more before stalking off, her cloak swirling about

You stand just inside the eastern gate of Galadon. The city walls arch
over the gate in their path around the city. Through the gates to the east
you can see the well-traveled road that leads past the Sands of Sorrow to
New Thalos beyond. A small staircase leads up one side of the gate to the
battlements above. To the west, the Market Road leads into the city through
all the shops.

This broad, cobblestone avenue has a strip of land covered with flowers
running down the middle of it. Here, it passes by the majestic Temple of
the Sun to the west on its way toward the park to the north. The High Road
continues toward the Market Square to the south.

You feel as though all your worries and cares are fading with each step
further into the park. A small flock of birds is startled into the air by
your entrance. The glade stretches out to the east, west and north or you
can get back to the busy life of the city to the south.
Wandering Through a Glade
Here you are in the northern part of the glade. The lush grass adds a
spring to your step you thought you lost long ago. Small yellow flowers dot
the grass, you take care not to trample them. The trees are too thick to
work your way through to the north. The green glade seems to stretch out
forever to the east, west, and south.

and the walls are done in the same neutral shade. Everything has an air

at night so the moon can bathe the temple with its light. The pale grey
stonework takes on an inner glow in the moonshine, celebrating the
neutrality of the moon. To the south lies the altar and the temple
square lies to the west.
