> 1. Agorinth keeps Harandor off-balance with trip and dirt, but Agorinth is a shaman and does not have these skills (according to the class tables at this site). How is he doing that?

Could call it quest skill, but it's actually something you get with the job in Empire, called 'tactics'.

> 2. Is Harandor really off balance to the point that the only non-'automatic' attack he gets to use is disarm? Why no wrath, healing, etc? Is it because Agorinth has a Black Shroud and that blocks wrath?

Off balance in use of tactics, yes indeed. Could be a black shroud since it doesn't show in affect list... Though it's only 66% protection instead of 50%

> 3. Agorinth's dispel magic dispels communes? Why does dispel magic dispel communes?

Shamans commune 'dispel' it dispels both magic and communes, mages only get 'dispel magic' (dispels magic only)

> 4. Is it my inexperience (I hope), or does the outcome of this battle seem a foregone conclusion? It appears that a paladin has little/no(?) chance against an Imperial shaman, for this reason: the shaman can dispell sanctuary, protection, etc v the paladin can't. The paladin's primary attack against evil, wrath, is inneffective against Black Shroud?

Important factor here is dispel, no doubt. But the foregone conclusion is in dispelling 'pass door' in this fight.
Paladins have a hard time against shamans, but it takes a locked room to make it a foregone thing.

> 5. I notice that Harandor had righteousness communed, but it seemed to do nothing. The definition of righteousness is that it prevents weapons and attacks that are holy in nature. What are a shaman's communes if not holy? What exactly does righteousness do? It seemed worthless in this battle.

Prevents wrath and divine power weapons in affecting the Paladin, same technique with invoker shields, zaps a little mana when stressed.

> 6. Overall, despite Harandor being very well equipped, all he did in this battle, except for the disarm, seemed inneffective. Is there an easy explanation for that?

Lag, stressed, tired, without his backup, etc. etc.
