Defiance has a few things it can do. One of them would have possibly allowed Har to win this fight. One would have allowed him to escape. I perhaps overstated the impact it would have made, but my point is that while the odds of a specific prog going off are relatively low, it's fairly likely that during this entire fight, one of the things that could have made a difference would likely have happened.

The crux of my point: Har was wielding the wrong weapon. The shield was a good choice, though.
