All that the post contains, and indeed the title alludes to this, is whether or not dawnies should take advantage of evils like they did.

His prayer to the immortals was asking whether or not it was the way of the dawn to loot the dead.

Therefore, it's impossible to something said to go over my head when it wasn't said at all. He tacked that on the paladin bit as an afterthought.
