Here's me $.02 on the matter.
1. If you have a very high charisma, the chance of the ephereal bastards rebelling against you is slim indeedy.
2. If I'm sending my boys off to certain death, then I may put 500 mana into the conjuration, and 0 into the binding, knowing that I'm sending them off to their watery graves (for the water elementals, of course), and that I'll tip an ale to them later, so no need to bust me brain now.
3. Having a relatively decent charisma (perhaps this falls in #1), I never put more into the binding. I always put equal amounts into the binding as the conjuration, and sometimes less if a nasty is about to install a new hole in my arse and there's no time to spare, much less whistling Dixie and sleeping whilst waiting for me bleedin' mental energies to reform.

There you have it. No more hints. And If I see any more conjurers coming up to me saying, "G'day! I've got a 13 charisma, 14 intelligence, and I wants to make a kickass conjurer, any advice?" I'll simply tip a beer to my homies, and laugh..and laugh..and laugh.....

G'day
