Do you really expect someone to buffet a single member of a group? Do you expect him to use fireball then switch to cone of cold? It will not cause more damage. Be nice if the immortals did put combo's like that, but they havn't.

So the only thing an invoker can do use the single most powerful spell he can cast. It depends who you are fighting and where on which of these spells will be the most powerful.
