He had very little opurtunity to order the elemental to rescue him, just the tiny gap in between where I tripped him and where I threw him. I jumped him from hidden as he was walking along a road and he probably had spammed a couple of moves. I know I'm often guilty of that.

As for the parrying I'm an arial with full dex, perfect weapons skills and parrying skills.
