Good eq and good mages just don't really seem to mix. A huge amount of good equipment seems to be either made of iron or anti-good. The vulnerability is not so bad, but when you opt to play an elf mage you also opt yourself out of some of the best gear in the game. You don't see a dark-elf get zapped by mithril half as much as an elf getting zapped by iron. Is the elves vulnerability to iron a concept from AD&D ?
