In order to get to the heart of this issue, we need to look at just why ragers feel the need to gangbang. I will be a bit repetetive here with respect to previous posts, so bear with me. 1. Raiding/retrieving. This should be pretty obvious. You are going to the other guys stronghold. Bring everyone and their mother with you, and do whatever it takes. 2. Barrier/shield/aura/haste/shroud/invoker shield/etc. transmuter offense major. Any rager want to take this guy out on his own? Didn't think so. Ganging this guy is the only way. As a side note, when and where do you run into this guy? I would say 95% of the time it is either (1) above, or (3) below. That's it. 3. Defending. If the other guy comes to your stronghold and there are three of you and one of him and he is not (2) above, well, he is an idiot. Take him out. Help the CF gene pool. (Maybe he is not an idiot, but he certainly can't complain about gang-banging because he knew what he was getting into). All of the above have a common thread. For the most part, they all deal directly with Cabal wars and items. I really haven't heard many people complaining about gangbanging in these scenarios, because the above reasons I laid out explain them and make sense (if I do say so myself!). Ragers sometimes travel in groups, to either rank or for safety. Not because Ragers say, "Hey, lets group so we can go thirst on the Eastern Road and gangbang everything that comes along!" Sometimes these groups run into other groups ("Hey, lets group so we can put Centurions on the Eastern Road and gangbang everything that comes along!") that have conflicting goals, and combat ensues. Sometimes these groups run into Bob the Invoker, out practicing avalanche in the Tahril Mountains, and combat ensues. Sometimes these groups run into a Blade Sect (that all can attack) traveling with an Arcane Sect and a Divine Sect (that none can attack), and combat ensues (safe bet the Blade is shrouded and shielded/hasted). No problems here, for most people (except when people don't perceive it as group on group and post logs of "Rager Honor", aka Kaindel), and perhaps Bob, who doesn't understand that the only good mage is a dead mage (Rager philosophy). These scenarios, in general, cover the majority of possible gangbanging situations that Ragers encounter. And these are the only ones that I feel are truly justified in accordance with Cabal philosophy and guidance. But I think the main issue here, and what separates the village from the Citadel, is that Battleragers do not group with the goal of gangbanging lone Imperials in mind, whereas Imperials do. Where do you think the village learned these tactics, anyway? You think Nimbus came down and taught the village how to gangbang? Nope. They learned from experience, from being gangbanged themselves, with no way to get away. At least non-villagers have that...if they get gangbanged, they can at least try to flee and quaff a potion to get away. Enough out of me!! Get in my belly!!
