I've had characters in the second age ganged
by ragers.
It makes sense with the Empire present to travel
with friends. You are assuming the motives are
to find and kill any enemy standing alone with
their thumb up their ass. I think they tend to
group together because (up until recently) they
had to worry about groups of imperials/masters
descending on top of them. With the empire's
current relative power, this continues to make
sense. There is a fine line between being courageous
and being stupid.
My advice to others. Don't be where they are.
