Pandora's Box is indeed open, but look closely and you realize the box has a massive underbite, so that when you jam it shut the genie creeps out the cracks.

The Imms are rendered virtually powerless against these ooc forums. They can publicly denounce them, plead with the VIPS/OPS what have you, but when all is said and done, there isn't enough ooc immortal power in the world to caulk those cracks.

You shut down IRC or the forum and another channel/forum rises from the ashes. You try your damndest to root out the troublemakers from IRC/Forum and they find a way to get around it.

ICQ is even more heinous, virtually stealth. ICQ has the impact of lab playing, with one very vicious extra facet, you can't ban people who use it. You can ban a lab for abusing their ooc relations, but you can't ban ICQ users without hacking into each and every players computer to see who they have on their lists.

No sir, no amount of immortal intervention can stop these ooc forums.

All we can do is hope that the immortals who are the perpetrators of this "nepotism" begin to see the wrong in it. Hope that they decide to no longer pass out favors based on ooc relationships and start looking at each char as if it were the player's first again.

Wouldn't it be great if you could be sure that you were given a fair shake in life?
