I definitely think some currently unavailable combos should be allowed (dwarf paladins, for example), but I also believe some should not be. However, that's from a game play standpoint, on a philosophical level, I probably agree. This is what I'm thinking: from a game standpoint it makes perfect sense that giants cannot be thieves, and it's hard to have a mental image of some fourteen foot behemoth reaching over to steal something from a three foot gnome and not being noticed. I mean come on, his hand and arm are as big as the entire gnome. But, from a philosophical point of view, it is different. You have to think of each race as a complete civilization, a real group with a complete societal makeup. When you think of it this way, you realize that of course some of any society are going to become thieves. YOu think there are no thieves in kidana rah, for example? Of course there are. Every society has them. Every society has pretty much all types. Sure, in thera there are restrictions in that some societies and cultures are morally predetermined, that is, they inherit racial characteristics of ethical standards inthe same way that the rest of us inherit hair color and height and the like. Even so, it seems pretty obvious that there would be thieves in the cloud giant society, and the arial society, and the storm giant society, and elf, etc, etc, etc. But the game wont let you play them. So, what it is, really, is a product of game playability. Even with that, though, I still think dwarves should be paladins. They are plentiful in the fantasy literature, they have the right racial leaning (they cannot be evil) and they would not be over powered, particulary given their vuln to water and inability to go underwater at all. The thought of a > Have you ever had a really bitchen idea for a race/class combo that CF doesn't allow. Such as a dwarf paladin? > I think it'd be fun to be able to make any race/class combo you like. > Lucian
> Here's the plan. If you want to have an odd race/class combo or just do things differently, roll up your race as citizen class. You would be able to roll perfect stats as a citizen but are bound to the mudschool and your chosen hometown. You would start off with the dagger skill, and that's all. When you get to level 3 you may choose to join a guild, you cannot go beyond rank 5 without choosing a guild. Once you choose your guild, you are bound to that guild. To gain entrance to a guild you'd have to go to that guild in your town, or that guild in the mudschool and pray or something wierd like that.
> Basically acceptance into a guild is a little bit easier than empowerment, but you do get small bonuses on regeneration, mana, movement and fighting in your hometown.
