One big problem is the forum. 90% of anything posted on the forum is a bitch. Also think 90% of these people only post crap to get arguments started between groups.
So if you actually think the forum and CF is full of bright computer geeks like yourself, you will be disappointed. Most are immature, sexually straved people that get their enjoyment out of ruin the game play for others, esp newbies. They seem to not bother me much since I can make it to hero without much bother from these idiots. But they can ruin it for less experienced people. Add in the fact that when people die they, they complain about it on the forum just fuels the pkers to do it more.

Also look at how much information is gained out of the game. Looking at the log board I learned that a ranger can ambush and follow that with a bearcharge without a delay. Although I haven't been killed by a ranger in about two years, you bet I will be even more careful. When I want to get some items for my warrior, what do I do? I goto the item search and look for items. So you see, you lost the fun of discovering something for yourself and keeping for only yourself.

There are pro's and con's to this. For example in the old days, you had only a few elite players (mostly immortals) knowing this stuff now everyone knows almost everything. It does seem to take away from the joy of discovery but it also evens the playing field for newbies. CF is not a newbie friendly mud even if you played other muds. Plus, you got alot of idiots that do not mind pking someone ten times in a row that know too much. This can make it very hard for newbies so I think they need some info just to survive.

Hrmmmm......what is the bottom line? I would have to say if dickheads didn't try and ruin the game and no one posted whines then game play would be a lot more fun.
Also remember it is just a game.....if you die to one of this mindless pkers, do not throw fuel on the fire and call them assholes and such.
