Spoken by an obviously skilled player with several dozen heroes under his belt. Sure, you can powerrank to hero in 30 hours, and Nepenthe can have a major form in 20... but the majority of players just aren't that good. It's already irritating and tedious enough to rank up for those of us who don't know all the secret tricks and unfrequented ranking areas. Besides, there are a lot of things.. titles, cabal membership, tattoos.. that are worth more, status-wise, than heroing. Not to mention that most of the action PK/RP/questwise takes place at rank 51 when you have less to lose from dying. 30 hours to hero may be ludicrous, but I visited a Medievia web site once where a player claimed it took him 2200 hours to hero. Let's not go that route, please? :)
