...is because most of these spells aren't original to AD&D either. You really think they were the first to think of clairvoyance or clairaudience (for example)? Of course not. Remote Viewing is a standard practice among occult and psychic initiates. Heh, the U.S. Gov't used to fund clairvoyance projects to help in the Cold War. Conjuring demons, is that unique to AD&D? Nope. Familiars? Nope. After a while enough of the common lore around these things is well-enough established that you can pretty much be guaranteed that any game that involves some form of conjuration is going to do something fairly similar to any other. Hopefully implementation is where the bells and whistles lie.
