My point however is that mastering your skills doesn't make supreme. A smart person can kill anybody, regardless. Mastering skills is a tool for the not-so-smart people that need every little bit of help they can get.

No, mastering skills doesn't hurt, but it doesn't make you Istendil either. If all things were equal, and we all started playing CF today it might make a difference. But in a world where there are morons and there are geniuses, the morons could brandish RPGs and UZIs and the geniuses would still find a way to beat them.
