Back then ragers spent their time hunting mages. All and all, I think battle is more of an anti-empire and anti-master cabal than a cabal devoted to hunting mages. I have seen to many times where they gang bang an Empire person rather than killing the sylvan mage. I have seen times where a thief would blackjack a warrior like Gathen and let the mage come out of duo and hold him. Then kill Gathen and let the mage recall. Of course he would attack the mage, but he would not seriously try and kill him.
