I did intentionally perfect sleep early simply because my alternative-to-spamming-acid-blast combat strategy (namely, sleep, maledictions, and following people around talking to them as they slowly died) strategy hinged upon it. I also intentionally finished protective shield after missing a lost concentration of it nearly let Ihlrath kill me. Necromancers lost protective shield about a week later. :p I also worked on spells for short periods to fill 10-20 minutes here and there when there wasn't anyone to group with/talk to/fight/interview and I felt like sticking around for a while to see if that would change. :Also, I believe Istendil toasted Orodeth when they fought.. so.. there goes your argument. Besides, one lich can kill another lich without using disruption. To the best of my recollection, Orodeth did not Become until after Istendil was either actually or effectively out of the picture. Naturally I won't begin to get into lich v. lich tactics and countertactics, other than to vaguely hint that there's still some neat tricks remaining undiscovered.
