If you haven't read any Lovecraft, Derleth, or their little circle of writers, you really should. I wouldn't start with The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, though. Start with The Watchers Out of Time or Tales of the Cthulhu Mythos if they're still in print. Might take some searching, they get reprinted in limited runs, it seems.
