Admitting you came near to tears over losing something you put 400 hours into is hardly immature. To think that crying is a sign of weakness, immaturity, or youth is.

If you become attached enough to your characters to mourn their loss, then you are doing something right as far as I'm concerned. That means your character had value, if for no one else, at least you. That should be a goal in CF, not something to be scorned.
