Do yourself a favor. If you're going to sit and spam songs, spam the ones you'll need the most (ie resisting, etc.). Not only does it make those songs more reliable to sing (via improves on the song), but sing will go up. Personally, I try to start with the lowest mana songs as well, you sing more often then, also. If you find yourself stuck, and sing isn't going up. Change your location. Take a walk to.. arial city.. darsylon.. Just another city or private spot where you're doing your songathon. Sometimes changing location makes all the difference.
Also, if you find sing stuck, try quitting for 5-10 minutes. Get yourself a nice tall frosty drink, a snack, take a bathroom break, and come back. Quitting out for a little sometimes helps, also. Not a long time, just 5-10 minutes.
