Well I remember this discussion before, and I believe that "You feel your luck improving" means you are...well getting luckier. Now at what is the part I expect you are asking. Have you ever tried gambling with your thief? Perhaps at the Inn? I don't know many other places actually...anyone else? Well anyway you get luckier at...stuff. I think the only people who really know what you get luckier at are the Immortals though. It could be a lot of things (besides gambling) maybe there is a better chance of stealing and/or blackjacking...so in conclusion this post is somewhat of a rant it has no flow and I'm starting to sound really stupid, oh well.
