You make a good point, but we must remember that it is yours alone. I know people who love being arbiters, love being ragers, and love assassins the way they are. Your reasons for not liking each of the above are only correct to you...perhaps not to others. You will probably get flames from people saying things like "You dont know shit, assassins are supposed to be killers like that, not weenie honorlovin ninja pricks." or "If you have never played a rager, dont knock them" Ignore those people. What is important to see is the fact that each player on CF has similar feelings about different things. I for instance dont like empire. Nothing personal to anyone, I just dont find it a fun cabal to play. And yes, I do think ragers now are a bit rough around the edges...to a large degree the roleplay they exhibit is extemely underpar. But many cabals are like that. (I will get flamed for my next statement) The better a roleplayer you become, the more visible bad roleplaying gets. I remember a time when I ran around asking people for "stats" of items, saying things OOC like "damn, I gotta go eat dinner" or "This is my first invoker, I dont know how to do anything" the basic newbie shit. But now, I dont. SO when I see someone that does, I immediatly think that their roleplaying is lacking. But to them, someone who may not have the experience, they may think they are doing a wonderful job. And what is worse, you learn from those you are around...so, IN the case of the ragers, when you have 6 hero level ragers who are a wee bit (Ok, very) lacking in RP skill it rubs off on all those around them. My advice, ignore it...pretend you didnt hear. Granted, that is hard when some rager yells out "Hey, come loot me!" or "Masters suck, Ragers kick ass!" Ok, I need to get off that rant. We are all looking for our little niche in the Carrionfields world. By finding what you dont like to play you narrow that down. I too dont like battleragers...nothing really against them, or the supposed RP base behind them. It is just that if I wanted a world with no magic, I wouldnt play a fantasy game. That is my opinion, and perhaps a few others. I like magic, I think it adds a bit of color. IN real life I can be a thief, or a warrior...granted getting arrested is a problem...but casting a big geyser of water, ot calling pillars of lightning is just something i cannot do. So my point is...it is 6 in the am...I am tired, and therefore ranting. But, to end, I think it is great that you have narrowed down your niche a bit. When you find what you love to play you will greatly enhance CF for all of us...in some way. But prepare yourself...just like in CF where we have the people that yell "GO RAGERS GO!" or "HEY! YOU MASTRS AARE PUSSIES! I WILL KLL YOU L8Er!" you will get flamed by someone pissed that you dont like something they do. Big Al
