This is to comment about a few other posts I've seen. To the guy who said he'd never play a rager or an arbiter: If you don't want to play them, by all means do not. When I first started CF, I played a mage, and I thought that not only were all BattleRagers evil, but the people who played them were heartless bastards who just loved to kill mages. "Man, I'll never play a BattleRager." I said to myself. Well, my next character was a Master. Next was an Entropy. The Entropy guy was a warrior, and he grouped with Ragers often. On THAT side of the ball, I went 'wow, those ragers get nice powers, and seem to help each other out a bunch'. So I played a Rager, and it was pretty fun. The point is: If you don't want to play them, don't. Nobody can force you to do so. Just keep in mind putting yourself in the shoes of your enemy once in a while. Enough of this old forgotten Knight's rambling, though. Hope I didn't offend anyone, just putting in my $.02.
Next, to the guy who said cabals are no fun anymore:
You're right. In a way. My first caballed char was a Master. After I got done with that char, things started to lose the 'mystique'. After playing an Entropy and a Rager, I was somewhat disenchanted with the whole cabal thing. I played a few non-caballeds, some caballeds, etc, but it seemed so...pointless. I'd become bored with CF, I thought, and so it was time to move on. So I didn't play for a while, but when I was low on cash and couldn't buy any new computer games, I thought 'hey, let's try CF again, it's been a while.' I rolled up a char, and found it was fun again. Or still fun. Whatever. The cabal thing is mostly a matter of perspective, I think. It's fun when you are barely winning, boring when you are totally dominating, not as fun when you are barely losing, and sucks when you are being totally dominated. At least for me.
