There seems to be a steady string of posts of people complaining about others roleplay. And I have to admit I think some peoples roleplay is kinda retarded. But I will go into this. It seems there are three types of roleplayers within CF. One, that uses it as an extention of themselves, basically playing themselves just able to kill people. Another that uses roleplay as a way to explore another persona, and another life. And the last is one that uses roleplay because he has to or else he will get spamped by the gods... I.E. Severyns. But before we start on the Severyns rant again, I will partially defend him, and those like him. We, as players of CF, are all different, we all lead different lives, in different places. We each bring strange and unusual life experiences to the game, that is what makes it fun. Seeing how this is the case, we all have a different view on exactly what "Roleplay" is. I personally dont think it is good RP to sit in a group and say things like. "We go next tic" or "Fuck you, you suck" or "Hey, bite me! You fucking asshole!" but to someone else this may be completely fine. It is possible for people to talk like that IRL...(aside from the tic thing really). This is where patience must be observed. When was the last time one of those "poor" roleplayers really amounted to anything? I cant really remember a time. So...to those of us who put forth effort to play exciting, deep, and enriching characters, rest assured, the Imms are probably watching. Taking note of who is worth a shit, and who is worth never looking at again. So hey! We have cannon fodder...ignore the things you dont like, grasp the things you do. When you say something to a character IC, and their response in your opinion is OOC, or bad RP...then ignore it. If the Imms are watching, then hey! Look who looks better, and look who looks like refried turds. Unfortunatly roleplaying isnt as easy to gauge as experience points, or hit/dam rolls. Therefore we all must, MUST, accept that not everyone that plays CF will be an Istendil, hell, not even a Severyns or a Ryu. So just smile, accept that they either roleplay different than you, or dont know they are supposed to. Well...I probable forgot a lot of what I meant this post to mean..but as you all well know, I will drop it again soon. To sum up...Stop worrying about BAD rp...start looking for GOOD rp, and when you find it, build it. ANd remember, Good Rpers are remembered with love, bad Rpers are remembered in mockery. Big AL
