As a relatively high rank member of Dawn, I had many opportunities to speak with people about turning from the darkness. I personally remember getting one bard who was oathed to the empire to turn from the dark and forsake his oath. And it wasn't a situation where he was actually wanted to at first. He was stuck tumbling down the mountain, and he had his neutral friend ask me for help while he hid (he was an assassin) because he didn't think I would come if he was evil (problem was, when his friend asked, he said save US and when I got near, I saw only one, so figured that the other was evil and hiding). So I got there and took the opportunity to speak with him about his choice and eventually, he decided that he wanted to follow Selric, so I started talking to Selric about it. He hadn't read the Kara Chal yet, so I got him out, and took him to the Lyceum to read it. After reading it, he made the decision to go for it, so I succored us both and Selric unloaked at the Haven. He made the the bard, Dejanus, renounce his oath to the empire and swear an oath to him that he would uphold and spread to others the way of the Kara Chal, and he would only use his hands and voice to fight. Selric purged all his kicks and other weapons and made him good with the title Dejanus the (whateber his rank title), Singer of the Kara Chal. The whole process took about 5-6 hours. That's the amount of time it took me to convince him to change, plus the time for reading the Kara Chal, and then for Selric to make all the changes. My point is, it really isn't that hard to change over as long as the person who is making the change, roleplays it well, and (if there is someone helping them like I was) the person helping roleplays it well and actually does their best to help them change. A power really isn't needed if folks RP. In my opinion, the power would just decrease the amount of RP needed to get it done. That's just my opinion though.
