Names in translation sound rather different

Names in translation sound rather different:

And btw, even if 'earthsea' is a famous book he probably read it
translated to language other than English (which is likely the case).
I, personally, was surprised that Calessin from that book is
spelled this way. I'ld rather spelled him as Khalessin given our
translation of this name.
