Hmm ... going alone and succeding is a testament to your personal power(In Empire at least) ... you might get anathematized if you fail(whining on the cabal channel). Going alone is not a bad idea, it might even turn the attention of the gods your way(in a possitive way that is). When Empire is saturated with people, it's this way people stand out from the crowd.
And besides raiding for the Equation is best suited for small groups of raiders, or single file highly organized groups.
