I've heard of people getting empowered under spheres that are not carried by any particular immortal. I've heard of basically two ways to do it.

First, you pray to the gods in general, hoping one of them will take on this nameless form and empower you. For example, I know somebody that was empowered by a lamia. *shrug*

Second, you find a god that carries a sphere that is close to what you follow.

My question is this, which way is best?
