Why should we let the characters name themselves? Our parents didn't let us decide on our names before 'ol mom gave birth, did they? Maybe I missed that part...

Here's my solution.

By what name do you wish to be mourned?
{Change it to something like:}
By what name has your parents cursed you with (New for new character)? new

{go through choosing race/sex, throw out something along the lines of:}
You have been named Jimmy the human male.
{continue on with character creation.}

I'm sure this'll fix the whole name thing.. *shrug*
