That's complicated. You get good at CF by playing CF. I can't tell you how many times I've watched a character with an orcish sword and shield or something similarly pathetic equipment-wise and not more than 3-5 skills over 75% mow through a character with great gear for his/her level and tons of 100%'s like s/he wasn't even there. A few suggestions to get you started:

1) Read 'help tips' if you haven't.
2) Make a real effort to learn the areas. Having a map someone else made to work from probably won't cut it when you find yourself summoned to a different part of the area and need to run to safety blind. Know where the exits to other areas are. Know where doors are. Know where keys are. Know where terrain suitable or unsuitable for hiding, camouflage, etc is. Know where aggressive creatures are, and so on. In any area you know significantly better than your opponent, you have an advantage in hunting/escaping that cannot be overestimated.
Maybe I should add that to help tips.
3) Try to look back on each fight you lose. No matter how badly you were overwhelmed or how little it seemed you could do to avert your fate, start with the assumption that you made a mistake. Your tactics should evolve with time.
