Not knowing what race you are, I can't be Stuff you can ignore, well, Detect Magic Everything else you will likely want to practice at one point or another, as you will find yourself with more than enough practice sessions given that at 23 int (human, arial) or 24 (dark elf) you can effectively learn in a single practice (71%/75% respectively). You can then convert your excess practices to trains. > Any advise would help.
is, or rather, what items you can find to
boost it. I like trying to scrounge around
and find enough items to get at least a 23Int before I practice anything (except perhaps dagger to get those Fine Cloaks, since it will only cost you 1 practice to learn that anyway at Int 18+ or so).
After that, Intelligence. Wisdom is debatable, usually after that I ignore
Strength and Dexterity for Mages, and go to
Hit Points.
perfect on the practice suggestions, but
assuming you have a 23 or 24 Int, go with
Sword, Spellcraft, Chill Touch. Sword is
a better weapon than dagger, more or less.
Chill Touch will be your main direct damage
spell, and the one you'll use in ranking
until you get Vampiric Touch.
ranks right up there. Armor really isn't
of much use beyond the first ten levels,
and Ventriloquate is useful only in a role
playing sense (I practice it, others do not,
with no detriment in terms of pure game
mechanics). Haggle likewise is of questionable use, gold is easily attained, and almost always practice sessions are more valuable than saving money.
