*sigh* Striking a nerve, Constructive Criticism, Misinterpretation, and somewhere deep in the middle, a discussion on stat rolling.:

If you're telling *Shokai* to get Prozac, I think you need to look into some Valium.

Missing the point, but Valium sounds good.

Ahh now, Morse, you're not such a bad guy, I even like your area. I'm sure that personal stamp of approval was just what you were looking for.

> If, on the other hand, you want to 'learn to be constructive', here's the things I think you'd have to address... purely from my own observations, these criteria have no basis with the real (high) imms.

I thought I was being constructive. If I wasn't being constructive I would put "Rolling sucks, fuck the imms for making me go through this bullshit nt" in the subject field and "Lick my ass crack you fuckmonkey" in the message field.

> 1) Not everyone should have good stats automatically. The hours of rolling provide an imperfect way of encouraging diversity.

If you want to think that that's cool. Personally the only diversity you're obtaining is a diversity of stages of frustration in the people rolling.
>

2) Not everyone should have the same, bland stats. Ie, straight 16s with 5 trains at startup.

I wouldn't take straight 16's anyways.

> 3) A more creative alternative can't be too easily manipulated. Ie, the ultima-style rolling wherein you answer riddles/questions

Never played Ultima, don't know what you're talking about.

> My personal favorite suggestion is to have rolling only show the words that describe stats.. ie, genius, idiotic, ugly, god-like, etc. Possibly with wider ranges than the current.

Ok, sounds good in theory. But then when you've got people starting the char, finding out their at the lowest levels of each of the adjectives and deleting to start over again. In the end, nothing is solved.

The only thing to do is to streamline the process. Take out the rediculously low stats that only sickos would take(ie anything under 75) and you easily cut the rolling time in half.

In conclusion, I think the imms need to realize the difference between constructive criticisms and outright flames. If criticism in general upsets you then join me and learn to hate the general public like all of the rest of the smart people out there. The sooner you learn that people suck, the sooner you can move on to bigger and brighter things.
