Example:

You're sitting on your (PC/Workstation) at work. You bring up a (MD-DOS/xterm) window and type telnet whatever your shell account address is. You log in. From there you use (tintin/tinyfugue/whatever) as if you were sitting on your machine at home. Works through a firewall, works from a 3rd world country, works from a cell in the Dungeon Mines of Yith.
