Paladin Heroes.. Hmm..

I get the idea, and to a degree, I do not disagree, though I think most of the stuff you suggested
falls into the Twinkie PowerKiller category. Justified, perhaps. Reasonable? Not entirely. At the
same time, however, I agree something is needed. I've thought it was something of a crock that a Paladin
could not go on a quest for thier god to aquire the ability to create, or alter, thier primary weapon of
choice into a Holy weapon, blessed with the power of thier faith and god. The idea would work similar in
nature to the Unholy Blessing, but not be quite so restrictive or idiotic. For example, your holy sword
wouldn't gain bonuses from killing "just anyone". Evils, sure. Perhaps also from criminals, or people who
had been 'judged', based on your previous example.

I can't countenance instant attacking someone if you can't see them, that's all there is to it. If they cannot
be seen/perceived somehow, you aren't gonna kill them. However, having a sword that grew in power as you faithfully
weeded out the 'vermin' of society isn't so bad. And rather than having it zap anyone who isn't you, though that
would make some sense, it would be more sensible to have it zap anyone who did not follow your god, if they tried to
wield it, or bring harm to the weapon. If I am blessed by Shokai, then by all means, if I fall, I am more than
willing to die at peace, because I know the Shaman I was with also served Shokai, and he may take up my blade and
continue my holy crusade.

Of course.. There would have to be special coding, to take several things into account. Someday, we'll likely see
an evil paladin. His holy sword would have to work in an almost (but not quite) entirely opposite manner. Slaying
the 'good' folk, though probably still gaining power on criminals. Burning the Righteous, that kind of crap.
