[ 4] Scarabaeus: Enough
Mon Nov 8 23:05:41 1999
To: all

I really tried to make this a better game for all of you. It felt good to
have people enjoy something I created, or to have someone get jazzed about
interacting with NPCs (good god I played a lot of NPCs), or to try and
think up some new spell or class or whatever that would help color the
landscape and make CF a more interesting place to be.

Unfortunately, the more you do this work the greater potential you have
for no longer enjoying it. For every person that had fun with something you
created, there seem to be a half dozen more that would either rather destroy
it or destroy you for creating it. After a few years of that, you get tired.
Seems like I'm tired of it a lot more often these days.

It's a shame few of you get to know what a quality staff of people you
have working in the heavens here. Cut 'em some slack. There is so much work
that goes on behind the scenes, even for the small stuff. And the small stuff
matters. I'm not saying kiss their asses or fawn over them, but some sort
of mutual respect would be cool; it's really hard to serve someone up
your best dinner and have them throw it back in your face.

Um, I guess that's it. I apologize to the members of my cabal. I had
more in store for you, I'm sorry it couldn't happen.

Have fun, people, and try to remember that's why you're here.

SS has left the building

Scarabaeus contributed so much to Carrion Fields to make it a more imaginative and enjoyable place to MUD.. it is a shame to see that he has left.

I really do hope you will reconsider your departure from CF, Scarabaeus, but if you really are gone, good luck in the other things you do in the future.

On a side note, a reminder to everyone else.. try to show some respect to those who are providing and contributing to this game.. or they might just give up and disappear.
