I will dare to venture to say my two cents, a speculation on what possibly went on from what I know.

I will say I know Chris Warren from two characters that he played, and I will say them here since they are both long gone and dead:

Dark Elf Necromancer, Eumenides, First of Jullias

Dark Elf Transmuter, Lrzhrxnia

He taught me somewhat with regard to the PK aspect of the game. He had a very fast link, he knows the area well, to say that he didn't role play at all was a lie, since he did immort.

The man behind the character, however, I will say most likely resembles Dennis the Menace. All of us has encountered them in high school. Sorta like the guy I know who got kicked out of school for a phone prank he pulled on the principal, saying he kidnapped his son.

Is he a bad guy? not really.

Does he lack discretion? probably.

We all think the joke was funny in high school didn't we, until the consequences hit home.

I don't know the story between Chris Warren and Sacer, but knowing the characters that were involved were: Xairiel, Scarabaeus Sacer, and the girl picture Chris putted up in the forum, knowing the man, he probably pulled a prank too big for Sacer to swallow.

Scarab did put in a tremendous effort in the overall design and improvement on CF. A lot of advancements would not have happened if not for him, for better or for worse, his efforts did produce many of the qualities which made CF a unique mud.

Even though I have often wondered at the absurdity on implementing the seemingly 'elite of the elite' lich race, the almost impossible quest, and the fact that two lich out of less than 10 (I know) are imm played... sounds like a conspiracy? Probably not, but nevertheless, the fact exist. I still say slap on the statement, "Do *NOT* play a necromancer unless you know CF inside out" as a warning on the helpfile on necromancers.

That aside however, the overall concept of the lich and his religion made a huge impact on CF. Whether or not they will remain without their creator, is another story. [Imagine CF without the lich race, without the SCARAB religion, and the famed area Hell]

Even though I have never really cared much for the Scarab both as a religion and a cabal, his attempt in unifying both the religion, the followers into a cabal inspired a true seamless role play possibility.

Possible ramifications and developments, we can only speculate.

Without the artistic vision and the driving force behind the man who re-invented the necromancer class, re-vamped the anti-paladin class, designed the spheres, etc. He leaves behind him, a fledgling Scarab cabal, and many many new things only thought of, but not yet designed. I truly feel sad, for both players who mud on CF, and the mud as a whole.
