Actually, for most cabals there is as much a penalty as there is a bonus. Not being in a cabal gives you greater freedom. Empire/Battle/Sylvan and even Arbiters get powers that make them stronger PK-wise, but they are also forced to defend. They may kill more, but they will also die more. Entropies don't have to die, but there have been few who didn't have a giant bullseye on their platemail. I am certain if we saw the numbers on this you would see that cabal'd chars die much more often than uncaballed.
