Chances are, if a duergar is wearing pwent armor, he isn't dodging... which is vital to anybody relying on the dagger spec.
You might smack down some unprepared mages with that combo, but any fighting class will tear him up.
Your best bet for a dagger specialist is a smaller class, since they have a better chance to dodge (gnome/svirf), or an elf/drow since they have a much better chance to surprise their opponents with special moves like hamstring.
