Dual wield and Whips, help please:

Accoring to the help on dual wield, you can have a whip as a primary weapon
and still wield fairly heavy weapons in your offhand, even though the whip
is light. But having tried to do this with a bunch of different weapon types
and whips, I've had little to no luck finding anything I can wield in my offhand.

I'm not a whip specialist, don't know if that makes a difference, but can anyone
give me some suggestions? I can't seem to wield axes or swords that weigh anything
near the whips weight, and the only mace I managed to get dual wielded was only
4 pounds.
