Alright, heres my take on things. I tend to associate lawful with more of being orderly, than someone who follows the law. Sure, the helpfile says lawful people follow the law, but well, its an RP thing, and you can't really put definite rules on that. I think paladins are orderly, and value that, but being orderly doesn't necessarily mean they follow the laws to a tee. They sure wouldn't go out of their way to break them though. > Paladin's believe in honor, chivalry, virtue amongst others. One of these things is obeying the Laws. The person who breaks laws for the greater good would be a lightwalking ranger etc. Paladins are holy warriors, given their strength through pure dedication to a code of chivalry and honor. > I personally, would think it in very bad form for even a Paladin of Shokai to kill a naked Necromancer, or even Anti-Paladin. The Paladin, no matter his religion, win his battles with honor and virtue. He will not sink low as to kill people dishonorably. (ie, unlawfully)
Oh, and honor and law have nothing to do with each other. Its not dishonorable to kill in town...but it would be if the paladin then lied about it. The paladin should state plainly he commited a crime, now whether he agrees to take the punishment, well, that could be argued as far as honor is concerned.
Anyways, just my thoughts
